Schools enrolled in the comprehensive level are required to participate in a Fall field trip. Here in Central Oregon the event is divided into two sections, Streamside and Hatchery Experiences.

Students travel to one location in the morning and to the second location in the afternoon, with two schools per day trading places after lunch. Students travel to Brown’s Creek and the Fall River Fish Hatchery.

Personnel are recruited from the Central Oregon Flyfishers, Sunriver Anglers, Central Oregon Llama Association, Wolftree Inc, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Deschutes National Forest.

More information on the Streamside Experience is available from the
Kokanee Karnival Manual, Chapter #4.
